First Nationwide Visualiser-Seeding Project
A visualiser is an updated version of the overhead projector that meets the demands of today's teaching methods and classroom dynamics. The introduction of a visualiser enables all students in the classroom to see the subject matter clearly on a whiteboard or screen from their desk. Any content can be shown - from written work or a 3D object to the various steps of a science experiment. The subject matter can be enlarged, live video streams can be captured, freeze frames can be taken, and even annotations can be made when using an interactive whiteboard.
The schools that have already taken part in the seeding project discovered that when they taught subjects using a visualiser, student participation increased and subjects could be taught with greater impact. The teachers explored different lesson strategies and identified the benefits: they found that preparation time was significantly reduced as there was no need to scan resources, and all students were able to see well from their desks.
The visualiser has been found to be exceptionally good at demonstrating to students how to use tools and techniques, such as how to use a protractor in a maths class or shading techniques in art.
